Garrison Green

Progressive was retained to provide engineering services for all phases of the Garrison Green project after being involved on the latter phases of the Garrison Woods subdivision.

When Canada Lands initiated the redevelopment of the former Lincoln Park area, the new community that was developed is Garrison Green, which commemorates and celebrates Canada's Peacekeeping efforts around the world.

This project required the assembly of detailed reference drawings that identified the existing infrastructure within this area including: mature trees that were to protected and retained, existing houses that were to be either retained, relocated within the project, or to be removed from the site. This work required the preservation of most of the existing mature trees in the area, as well as innovative approaches in interfacing City Standards with existing site conditions.

This detailed plan formed the basis of the new community concept plan prepared and presented for review and approval to the City of Calgary. New utility layout and road cross-section standards were developed and approved for this community which required coordination of a strong engineering team and continuous liaison with the various City of Calgary engineering departments in order to obtain the necessary approvals.
