Eastlake Industrial Centre

This development provided many challenges including: accurately modeling and finalizing the earthworks for the site and design of a re-constructed Environmental Reserve within the stormwater retention facility.

The Eastlake Industrial Centre is a 215 hectare light industrial development in southeast Calgary. This was the largest single industrial subdivision the City had undertaken todate. Through the preliminary stages of the project Progressive worked with Corporate Properties to achieve cost savings in several areas, including reconstruction of a wetland to be used as a storm pond, incorporating the existing road structure into our design (rather than remove and replace) and careful planning related to management of materials to reduce construction costs.

Progressive's value added services continued through the detailed design phase of the project by maximizing the use of CAD software to refine our design as much as possible. The tendering phase of the project required that we adhere to the City of Calgary tendering process as required by Supply Management. Through the construction phase of the project, we administered the contract as required by Corporate Properties, providing onsite inspections, quality control and change management, to ensure that costs were kept under control while advancing the project.
